Data the extension accesses

When you start an analysis, the extension temporarily accesses the active tab's URL, title, visible page structure, computed styles, text and background colors, and color-contrast relationships. This information is used only to create your color identity report and to highlight matching elements on that same page when requested.

The most recent failed-scan diagnostic may be stored locally on your device so it remains available after the popup closes. You can replace it by running another scan or remove it by uninstalling the extension or clearing its local storage.

Local processing and sharing

Analysis runs locally in your browser. Color Identity Analyzer does not send page content, browsing activity, reports, diagnostics, or personal information to the developer or third parties. It does not sell data, use data for advertising, or allow humans to read analyzed page content.

Reports are copied or downloaded only when you explicitly choose to export them.

Why the permissions are needed

• activeTab temporarily accesses only the tab where you invoke the extension.
• scripting runs the scanner and optional visual highlighter in that tab.
• storage saves the latest error diagnostic locally on your device.

Limited Use

The use of information received through Chrome extension APIs adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Data is used only to provide or improve the extension's single user-facing purpose.
